I have looked at our school magazine front cover and analysed it in terms of images, colours, masthead, and overall effect.
It was clear that the front cover was not effective, the number of images used meant it looked busy. The masthead was to small and the cover only dealt with one subject specific matter.
My front cover will hopefully be better than this!

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with this. The existing product doesn't meet the conventions of magazines (which are? tell us?) and is not really attracting students. I wonder is it is actually aimed at parents? It does seem to be rather crowded and the images are quite low res too. This should give you a lot of room to develop your own version.
